Climate Smart Agriculture

Today climate change and associated challenges are a global phenomenon. Equipping people to adapt to climate change and developing a climate resilient community is always a priority area of PDS. In fact, all the activities promoted by PDS in one way or another contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation. PDS has been undertaking various climate adaptation programmes including introduction of drought resistant crop varieties, multiplication and popularisation of improved crop varieties, new planting techniques, precision farming, polyhouse, rain shelter, etc.
